City of Rushford planned outage set for 11:50 pm tonight
Cresco, IA | Rushford, MN (1:30 p.m. Dec. 18, 2017)— Residents of the City of Rushford will have a one-hour power outage starting at 11:50 p.m. tonight. Consumers that will be affected by the power outage tonight are those who receive their electric bill from the City of Rushford.
After reviewing the City of Rushford’s substation with an infrared camera, crews from MiEnergy and Dairyland are confident that Saturday’s electric blinks are related to a piece of equipment known as a lightning arrestor within the substation. Dairyland will be changing out all six arrestors on the transformer.
MiEnergy, ITC Midwest and Dairyland thank everyone for their patience during this frustrating series of blink events.
Saturday’s blinks are a separate issue from the ones experienced two weeks ago when ITC Midwest changed out insulators on a stretch of transmission line north of Rushford. Fault indicators show Saturday’s blinks in the area between Good Shepherd Nursing Home and the City of Rushford’s substation.
The blinks could be felt by the cities of Lewiston, Utica, Rushford and Stockton and the rural areas surrounding those cities.
